Does WWE own NWA?
With WWE’s former membership in the NWA, its ownership of World Championship Wrestling and its predecessor libraries, and its ownership of Extreme Championship Wrestling (which was an NWA member until it abruptly severed ties with the organization in 1994) and other smaller regional promotions, WWE has amassed a substantial amount of NWA footage, allowing it to exploit the organization’s trademarks.

Eazy-E is mostly regarded as the businessman behind N.W.A., or at the very least as one of the group’s more business-minded members, although he is also known as a rapper. He formed Ruthless Records, the group’s record company, and retained ownership of the group’s songs until his death in 1995, at which point the rights were acquired by his wife, Tomica Woods-Wright, who is still alive today.
